ABOUT THE ARTIST
Caroline Weber (1974) is a visual artist. She lives and works in rural Schwyz in Switzerland.
Caroline Weber’s work deals with connections related to the human condition. What it means to have a clear path, and adversely what it feels like to forgo the path and discover your surroundings.
She vacillates between the clarity and confusion, the balance and instability, the fluid and static, the minimalist and the expressionistic. All in all it is an emotion that speaks of untold micro-stories. And a balance act, maintaining a constant tension between multitudes elements. Weber creates an unprecedented situation in which the viewer is confronted with the conditioning of his own perception and has to reconsider his biased position.
The artist builds her compositions slowly over time. Gestural markings intermingle with a combination of layering and distressing. Imprints and erasures combine on the canvas. They not only function as formal reflections on materiality, but also address the fragility and unpredictability of the current moment.
Caroline Weber receives national and international exposures and is a Prizewinner. In her region she is a star. She participated in solo and group exhibitions. Her works can be found in corporate premises as well as in private collections in the USA, Australia, Canada, Bangladesh, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Netherlands, Austria and Switzerland. Her artwork has been published in magazines, newspapers and catalogues. Caroline Weber got featured by Saatchi Art Chief Curator and VP, Art Advisory Rebecca Wilson.
Weber corporates with international brands like Bombay Sapphire Gin or Visa Cornercard and is a semi-final winner of Artbox Project Barcelona 1.0.
